1st February

Vasil Bilak, a former communist leader of Czechoslovakia, has died on 6th February 2014. He was 96.

7th February

Union Cabinet cleared the Telangana Bill on 7th February 2014. The bill will  be introduced on 11th or 12th February 2014.

The GDP growth for this fiscal year 2013-2014 is 4.9% according to advanced estimates released on 7th February 2014 by central statistics office (CSO).

R. Sridharan was elected as the new president of Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) on 7th February 2014.

Anup Sridhar and Tanvi Lad won Men’s and Women’s titles at the Canara Bank all India Senior ranking Badminton Tournment.

9th February

N. Ramachandran is elected as the new President of Indian Olympic Association (IOA) on 9th February 2014.

10th February

Sushil Koirala is the new President of Nepali Congress and he was elected by the PM of Nepal on 10th February 2014.

Vinod Sawhny is the CEO of Reliance Communications. Before joining in RCom, He worked in Bharati Group for more than 10 years.

11th February

E. K. Parthasarathy, industrialist and chairman of Madras Engineering Industries, died on 11th February 2014. He was 77.

Shirley Temple Black, fame as Hollywood child star, died on 11th February 2014. She was 85.

Lakshmi Swaminthan, elected as the President of The Adminstrative Tribunal of the Asian Development Bank (ADB). She is the first Indian to head the Tribunal.

12th February

Moin Khan is appointed as the Head coach of the Pakistan and replacing Australian Dav Whatmore whose 2 year contract expired last month. Moin Khan is the former captain of Pakistan team.

Karnataka, with its innings victory against the rest of India, became the first Ranji Trophy Champion in the last eight seasons to win the Irani Cup.

Balu Mahendra, National award winning Filmmaker died on 13th February 2014. He was 75.
U. S comedy Pioneer Sid Caesar died and best known for the TV Programme “ Your Show of Shows”. He was 91.

K. Raghu is the new President of institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) and Manoj Fadnis is the Vice-President of ICAI for 2014-15.

14th February

President Pranab Mukherjee has been conferred the Rotary international highest Award from Rotary president Ron Burton on 19th February 2014. This is for India’s victory over Polio.
